The Wirral Pals – The story of the 13th (Wirral) Bn Cheshire Regiment in the Great War

Wednesday 5th October

We’re delighted to be joined by Peter Threlfall, who will be delivering our Annual War Memorial lecture, focusing on “The Wirral Pals – the story of the 13th (Wirral) Bn Cheshire Regiment in the Great War”. We will follow its brief history from the early days of recruitment, through training, and onto the bloody battlefields of France and Belgium, where they fought at such places as Le Touquet, Vimy Ridge, Ovillers, Grandcourt, Ploegsteert, and the infamous Ypres Salient from 1915-early 1918.

Time: 7pm at the Old School Room at the Lyceum
