Platinum Jubilee Acer Tree

Many of you who visited the village at the weekend may have seen our very special Queen Elizabeth Acer tree to mark the Platinum Jubilee.

The tree was planted on 1st June by Caroline Everett, who first presented a posy of flowers along with her sister to the Queen during the Royal Visit to Port Sunlight in 1988, during the village’s centenary year. Caroline was joined by Honorary President Maggie Sparks, Landscape Supervisor Liam English, Gardener Andy Durney and Collection Officer James Hayes.

The Acer tree is now located on the Museum Green, together with a plaque commemorating the planting.

We’re excited for you all to watch it grow for many years to come!
