Port Sunlight Village Trust (PSVT) is an independent charity founded in 1999. We are guardians of a unique and beautiful village. Our vision is ‘to make Port Sunlight an inspiring place to live, work and visit’.

Founded in 1888 by industrialist William Lever, Port Sunlight was built for the workers of his nearby Lever Brothers soap factory. Today the village is home to 2,000 residents and pre-pandemic received in the region of 300,000 visitors each year.

PSVT’s current visitor offer, The Port Sunlight Experience, comprises Port Sunlight Museum, the Edwardian Worker’s Cottage Experience, and SoapWorks. Visitors can also enjoy tours and trails of the village and an indoor and outdoor events programme.

Being Port Sunlight Exhibition

Being Port Sunlight chronicles the personal experiences of Port Sunlight’s residents, groups and businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic. Full of personal reminiscences, video footage and images relating to lockdown from groups, families and individuals.

The exhibition is an emotional and fascinating display of how we lived through this time of change.

The content for the exhibition has been drawn from Be Port Sunlight, an online hub containing a fascinating archive of audio-visual material which conveys as sense of life during the 2020 pandemic.
