War Memorial undergoes essential maintenance work
In September members of the Trust's Heritage and Landscape Gardening teams will be trained to undertake some necessary cleaning and repair work to the Grade I Listed Port Sunlight war memorial.
One of the remarkable aspects of Port Sunlight is the relationship between the buildings and landscape of the village. It is almost as if the buildings were placed into a parkland setting.
The "theatre" of Port Sunlight is added to by the well manicured and uniform presentation of the public realm giving the village an opulent feel. The extensive planting of trees, formal bedding areas and open spaces are as importanat as the Grade II listed buildings.
